Clogging

Clogging is not dancing with wooden shoes anymore.

Not since the 1500 when leather shoes were more common.

Clog is a Gaelic word meaning time.

Its Scottish and Irish Gaelic in origin.

The dance and rhythms were brought to America more specifically the Appalachian Mountains by these immigrants.

There in the smelting pot of the Great Smoky Mountains conceived with Bluegrass music, Cherokee Indian dance and Irish Jig, cloggings was reborn.

Buck and Wing is an American Black invention. But Buck is used as a synonym for Clogging.

Expect very little arm movement. More stomping and less cool moves.
