The Slav can lead to very interesting end games. The Opening move 8...Ne4 is not recommended in this type of Slav because of the Gambit move 9.Bd3. Can you see why? But black can sometime fight back to equality as is here. After move 37. f6 Black no longer cares if the rooks are exchanged. This is normally a No No when you are a pawn down in Rook an Pawn endings. Can you tell why. Hint: It has to do with the need for opposition you learned in your first lesson on K vs K and Pawn endings.
