Assassination sometimes effects the future.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr received a Doctor of Philosophy from Boston University.

He was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

I wonder what it would be like if he had not been murdered.

Many ask why did we need a Civil Rights movement 100 years after the Civil War?

How did we still have segregation?

The reason is President Andrew Johnson was a traitor.

Had General Robert E. Lee not surrendered (April 9, 1865) less than a week earlier.

I’m sure President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination (April 14, 1865) would have led to the North under Andrew Johnson suing for peace.

As it was, every piece of legislation that would have given Blacks their full civil rights were vetoed or obstructed by him.

We joke how Civil War Reconstruction was bad in the South under Johnson.

Most Southerners knew the legislative branch of the North was behind it.

I tell you this, if you were a Colonel in the Confederacy Johnson was your best friend and pardoner.

As an aside communications were slow in the 1860‘s.

This makes me wonder whether the plan for Lincoln’s murder was a last desperate attempt ordered by the top men of the Confederacy and set in motion a month earlier.

President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963.

Because President Lyndon B Johnson was a good man Kennedy’s assassination didn’t slow down the Civil Right Movement.
