  • 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 dxc4 is a very good move statsitically for black.
  • White wins 36% loses 32% draws 32% I don't know opening systems for Black that does better.
  • 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 dxc4

Black can go wrong here thinking he has a note boom here. In the note boom their is a N on c3 for black to attack with his bishop 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 dxc4 4.e3 b5 5.a4 e6 6.b3

    1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 dxc4 4.e3 b5 5.a4 e6 6.b3

The check 6...Bb4 was the major mistake. When white bocks with his bishop 7.bd2 if black exchanges, White can take back with the knight at f3. This give white a beautiful square for his queen. (Black should have brought the other bishop to b7)6...Bb4+ 7.Bd2 a5 8.axb5

    4.e3 b5 5.a4 e6 6.b3 Bb4+ 7.Bd2 a5 8.axb5

  • 9.Nfxd2 Clears the f3 square for the queen.
  • 8... Bxd2+ 9.Nfxd2!!cxb5
  • 8... Bxd2+ 9.Nfxd2 cxb5

  • First the Queen attack the rook 10.Qf3 best for black here was 10..Qd4 but his hopes for a notboom formation where black ha a passed a an b pawn in return for control of the center and a pawn fades because 11.bxc4 attacks the b pawn and queen so the b pawn can't be pushed and is exchanged off.
  • 10.Qf3 Ra7 11.Qg3!!
  • Here the Queen at g3 (11. Qg3) attacks the pawn at g7 and Knight at b8. The game is lost.
  • 10.Qf3 Ra7 11.Qg3

10.Qd4 is a little better but no good

  • According to chess lab 4.e3 seems best for white. I can see how it might transpose into the noteboom and be good for black.
  • 4.e3 white wins 38% loses 24% draws 34%
  • 1.c4 e6 2.Nf3 d5 3.d4 dxc4 4.e3
